What does cost sharing mean?
A private pilot conducts a flight they are planning and shares the permitted direct cost among the people on board. Aviatefinder helps make the available seats visible and handles booking and payment.

Rules
Two rules that always apply
The pilot contributes
The pilot is one of the people sharing the eligible direct costs and may not make a profit.
No more than six people
A maximum of six people in total, including the pilot, may participate in the cost sharing.
Not a commercial flight
A private cost-sharing flight is not an airline, air taxi or charter service. It depends more directly on weather, aircraft availability and the pilot’s operational decision.
Responsibility
Responsibility remains with the pilot
The pilot in command remains responsible for safe preparation and operation of the flight, regardless of booking or payment status.
